ROLE: SR. DIRECTOR OF VISUAL DESIGN
At Nickelodeon, I serve as the art director for all our brand and IP YouTube channels, including 26+ international versions. I collaborate closely with audience development and channel management to translate insights into content that resonates with viewers in the formats that work best for them.
I lead a team of designers who craft the audience’s first point of interaction—the thumbnail—on a daily basis, a task that’s both critical and high-impact. Beyond thumbnails, we design endcards, community tab assets, avatars, and a variety of other visual elements that define and strengthen our YouTube presence.
YOUTUBE SHORTS
A key part of my role is staying ahead of emerging trends and adapting quickly as platforms evolve. With the growth of YouTube Shorts and vertical content, it’s critical that our creative feels native to how audiences engage today.
I collaborated with my team to develop streamlined YouTube Shorts toolkits featuring legible, platform-native typography, brand-right color palettes optimized for mobile, and flexible assets that simplified production. We launched the toolkits during Super Bowl 2024, and the rollout was highly successful. This allowed our editors to focus on creating engaging content while ensuring each piece was unmistakably Nickelodeon.
