ROLE: SERIES DEVELOPMENT ART DIRECTOR / GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Partnered with my Nickelodeon team to reimagine The Backyardigans, introducing fresh adventures and innovative YouTube formats that bring new life to this beloved series. I led the art direction across characters, props, environments, and every visual element of the world.
BRAND DEVELOPMENT
Developed series branding for series on YouTube. It included a new logo, thumbnail design and a vibrant color palette. I also crafted liminal backgrounds for character appearances, drawing inspiration from the original series to preserve the unmistakable Backyardigans magic.
CLUBHOUSE DEVELOPMENT
Collaborated with development team to bring The Backyardigans clubhouse to life. I was able to add a lot of toy-like elements to it with the hopes it can become an actual toy in the future. Here are some of the mock ups and drafts as well as the final renders.
TYPOGRAPHY DESIGN
Created lively, kid-friendly typography for “Boinga,” one of my favorite Backyardigans songs. I followed YouTube’s best practices for children’s content—especially for mobile viewing—and worked hand in hand with the editors to make the design pop on screen.
UNIQUA’S SPOT THE DIFFERENCE
Partnered with my team to introduce this fresh YouTube format to our Nick Jr. audience. Beyond art directing this playful episode, I designed Uniqua’s costume box and created the unique, one-off backgrounds that bring this format to life.
